Carmia Shoval and Gila Freedman Cohen are both veteran instructors of Hebrew as a Second language and senior faculty members of the Division for Hebrew Language Instruction of the Rothberg International School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Both have been involved for many years in teacher training and hold advance degrees in Hebrew Language from the Hebrew University. Ms. Shoval, a native Hebrew Speaker, is co-author of the multimedia courseware Sabra Sound: Learning to Pronounce Hebrew. Ms. Freedman Cohen, a native English speaker, taught Modern Hebrew at Brandeis University before coming to Israel. She is co-author of Hebrew in Focus: Photographs for Teaching Hebrew (with teacher's guide) and of a variety of courseware for reading comprehension and vocabulary development.
