Abu Musab Al Suri's Jihad Concept Philipp Holtmann The present book is a comprehensive analysis of the jihad concept of the Al-Qaeda strategist Abu Mus'ab al-Suri. Understanding his jihad concept gives insight into the ideology, formation and structure of future jihadi cells in the West and the Muslim world. The analysis also describes how al-Suri tries to give a common umbrella to jihadis who are motivated by local, global, or diaspora agendas. The analysis is based mainly on Arabic sources such as al-Suri's voluminous jihad encyclopedia "Global Islamic Resistance Call", the texts of the jihad ideologue Abdallah Azzam and other influential contemporary Islamists. Philipp Holtmann obtained his Master's Degree at Tel Aviv University. He is a journalist and political analyst on Middle East issues.
