En-Gedi Excavations II:<br> Final report (1996-2002)
"A very large village of Jews" is how the Church Father Eusebius of Caesarea defined En-Gedi in the early fourth century CE (Onomasticon 86). This definition is expressed in striking and tangible form in the excavations conducted by us at the site. During seven years of excavation (1996-2002) we exposed streets, dwellings, shops, courtyards, storerooms, installations for processing agricultural products, water supply system, and more. The wealth of finds and the wide range of vessels uncovered during the excavations illuminate the daily life of En-Gedi's inhabitants in the Roman-Byzantine period. This book presents the principal results of our excavations at En-Gedi.
